Founded in 2018 by producer/writer Tim Koomen and director David-Jan Bronsgeest, BLOODRAVE develops elevated genre films with a distinctive European voice and international ambition.
After breaking through with the shorts Meet Jimmy, Sexorcism and Mr Lonely, the company gained international recognition with the trans body horror Binary, which screened at IFFR and Fantastic Fest in 2024. That same year, BLOODRAVE completed its debut feature Jimmy for Amazon Prime.
Today, BLOODRAVE is building an ambitious slate of genre projects. TINA Town, a queer terror drama, has secured €1.2 million from the Dutch Film Fund and is currently completing financing. Paradise Morbid is a hybrid horror documentary in development, supported by a proof-of-concept short. The slate also includes Everything There Was, a contained, grounded apocalyptic sci-fi adapted from the novel by Hanna Bervoets, alongside Thirst Trap, a satirical vampire comedy, and Dormant, a supernatural horror feature.

Eight people find themselves trapped inside a school building after a mysterious explosion. Isolated from the outside world and with no way to communicate, they face hunger, desperation, and each other. What begins as a struggle for survival quickly spirals into a battle against human instincts and moral decay.
Based on the acclaimed novel by Hanna Bervoets, Alles Wat Er Was is a gripping psychological exploration of isolation, paranoia, and the thin line between civilization and savagery. Developed as part of the NPO Start Fictie Next talent program in collaboration with VPRO and director Lisette Donkersloot (Sihame), the series delves deep into the fragility of the human psyche.
As resources dwindle and reality blurs, the boundaries between past and present start to dissolve. What remains is not just a question of survival but of identity - who were they before, and who will they become in the face of the unknown?

Bloodrave’s first horror documentary
Frank van der Meer (65) calls himself a “professional junkie” and survived the most violent era of the Amsterdam Red Light District. Growing up in Amsterdam-East, he was exposed to illegal casinos and prostitutes at a young age. From a successful cocaine dealer to a street junkie, he managed to survive despite his narcissistic brother and a youth filled with violence. As a teenager, he became a victim of sexual abuse after someone drugged his drink, leading him into a dark and dangerous existence in the '70s, '80s, and '90s.
Frank has had multiple near-death experiences: he was set on fire, thrown into a canal, stabbed, and broke every bone in his body. He survived cancer and became immune to AIDS - all before turning thirty. Now, he seems to have disappeared from the streets, but many still remember him.
The film Paradise Morbid tells Frank’s bizarre survival story from a unique first-person perspective. The viewer is immersed in the chaotic and violent world of Amsterdam’s heroin epidemic, from the Chinese takeover of the Zeedijk to his clinical death experiences at the OLVG hospital. With a mix of style and dark humor, the film reveals inescapable life lessons and brings the tension and danger of street survival closer than ever before.
As Frank himself says: "I am not afraid to die, but afraid to live."

Gabriël (17) has grown up in a strict religious fishing village, where his desires have no place. Searching for freedom, he flees to Germany, discovering an underground world where sex and crystal meth merge into an all-consuming euphoria. As he plunges deeper into nights that never seem to end, he spirals into a dangerous cycle of addiction and self-destruction.
Tina Town is an uncompromising, terror nightmare about desire, identity, and the cost of ultimate freedom. Inspired by true stories, the film offers a raw look at the chemsex-scene, self-destruction, and the impossible search for control in a world that devours everything.
As Gabriël learns: there is no alternative.
The film is currently in the process of applying for Aanvraag Realisatie at the Dutch Film Fund.
